About Me

Why did I choose garden and flower photography as a specialty?

Looking back to the past it seems so obvious.  I grew up on a large farm and nursery in Connecticut.  There were surprises everywhere....the freedom of space, the orchards in bloom, the rows of cultivated strawberries and asparagus, the walks with my grandmother looking intently on the ground for arrowheads, and potting geraniums in the greenhouse with my father.

Years later I put that "looking intently" to work.  I learned photography from some of the greats (Ansel Adams, George Tice, Olivia Parker) and started doing fine art black and white photography followed by assignments for garden magazines, books and  advertising.
